Presenter: Rob Alvo

Being a Bird in North America (BABINA) is a book that is a unique combination of science and humour. It explores the most interesting aspects of each species, be they human-related or not. How are Common Loons affected by lake acidification? Why do Green Herons build flimsy nests? In other words, what does each species have to tell us about its relationship with humans or about how and why it has come to be the way it is over evolutionary time. Author and OFNC member Rob Alvo will talk about the book, the birds, and the process of bringing them together.
