/Birding and Record Keeping with eBird, A Two-Part Workshop, Part 1

March 8, 2018 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Leaders: Michelle Martin & Mark Gawn

Meet: Fletcher Wildlife Garden building. Take Prince of Wales Dr. south from Dow’s Lake. Go straight through the traffic circle by the Dominion Arboretum and Central Experimental Farm buildings. Look for the sign with a Great Blue Heron on your left just before a red barn. Turn left and follow the road to the second small building at the end. Park there or in the larger lot you just passed if there is no room.

Description: This is Part 1 of a two-part event. eBird is a citizen science project, with more than 100 million bird sightings contributed each year by users around the world. A collaborative effort with many partner organizations, regional experts, and hundreds of thousands of users, eBird is managed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and in Canada by Bird Studies Canada. Join Michelle and Mark in a workshop to find out how eBird works, how you can use it, and how others use it. In Part 2 you will have the chance to join the leaders on a field trip and see eBird’s mobile app in action. Please pre-register by March 7th to bm.ofnevents@gmail.com.
