Several OFNC members who enjoy looking for mushrooms and lichens are sharing information and photos of their fungal finds on a web forum. We meet periodically for Shroom Zoom, an online show&tell. Details at forum.mycoott.org. If this sounds fun, join OFNC if you haven’t already, and check into the forum.

Hi there. I am looking for a practical mushroom forging guide for the Ottawa and Quebec regions. Also, Id be interested in knowing if you know anyone who sells foraging bags.
Thank you!
Hi Adriana
I am relatively new to the world of fungi but spent a considerable amount of time foraging this summer and fall. There are no “official” foraging bags that I know of. I typically bring a small basket with a handle and several small paper bags which I buy at the dollar store. Paper allows the mushrooms to remain fresh until you get them home. Hope this is helpful.
Good morning, My name is mike and I am a beginner in the world of mushroom. I am retired and my hobbies include the management of a small forest east of Ottawa.
Hi mike
I too am relatively new to the world of fungi but spent the past year studying, foraging and analyzing the fungi I’ve found on countless foraging trips to Algonquin Park, Gatineau park and the region around my summer home in the Cornwall area.
What can I help you with?
Hi my name Guy. I’ve been interested in fungi for about 5 years. I have identified and tasted a dozen types of mushrooms so far and I am now looking to expand my inventory.
