Mission Monarch and the Montréal Insectarium need your help! Once again this year, they will be conducting a Monarch bioblitz. But to find out where the Monarchs are, how many eggs they are laying, and whether caterpillars are surviving, they need all of us to look!
On Saturday, July 27, project coordinator André-Philippe Drapeau Picard will be at the FWG to tell us more about the mission, about the Monarch, and how we can help. His presentation will be followed by an outing at the FWG to look for Monarch eggs and caterpillars.
As in previous years, the FWG will be following up on this training workshop with trips to the milkweed fields south of Ottawa International Airport to look for caterpillars and eggs. Some volunteers also monitored country property or a neighbourhood park and reported their sightings.
This is an easy way to contribute to Monarch conservation and a great opportunity to learn more about this amazing creature.
