How to find the Fletcher Wildlife Garden
The FWG is only a few miles from the centre of Ottawa. It's open to the public and there is no admission charge.
By public transportationThe number 118 bus comes along Prince of Wales Drive and stops near the entrance to the FWG, but only on Sundays. Routes 85 (all week) and 101 (not on Sunday) stop at Carling and Preston; from there, it's a 20-minute walk to FWG. OCTranspo map
The closest O-Train stop is at Carleton University. From there, walk toward the Rideau Canal, cross the canal at Hartwell's Locks and veer right up the hill to enter the FWG at its southeast corner.
From downtown, take the Queen Elizabeth Driveway on the west side of the Rideau Canal. After skirting Dow's Lake, the road becomes Prince of Wales Drive. Continue on this road around the traffic circle in the Central Experimental Farm. As you head south, watch for the billboard-style sign with our heron logo. It will be on your left. See street view below.
Coming from the west end of the city, head east on Baseline Road. Turn left on Prince of Wales and watch for the sign with the heron on your right. See street view below.
Visitor parking is available at the lot just past the baseball diamond (large red square on map below); additional limited parking is available at our resource centre at the end of the entrance road (smaller red square).
